Progressive Challenge Step 1

Post by traveler »

Step 2 has been posted.

Welcome to Step 1 of the progressive challenge. For this step, you will be making a kit and chosing a path. Please post a photo of your kit along with your chosen path to this thread.

KIT: You will need to make a kit that contains the items listed below. Take a single photo of the entire kit, post in the gallery here at ACOT,  and post the image to this thread. Don’t forget to mark your photo as private in the gallery. Only step 4, the final result should be public.
  • 1, 2, or 3 photos (you will need to use all of the photos you choose and no other photos)
  • background paper - this is a full size piece of paper for whatever size you are scrapping, it should be either a subtle print or cardstock
  • 4 other papers - may be prints or cardstock, may be full size or scraps but not too small
  • something(s) with which to make your title - can be letter stickers or a die cut word or a chipboard word or a sticker with the title on it or anything else you can make a title with. (don't stick it onto anything yet, just choose it)
  • 2 packages of small embellishments such as enamel dots, puffy stickers, gems, sequins, brads, etc.  The packages do not need to be complete (leave the embellishments in the package for now)
note that you will not be required to use everything from your kit and you may be able to add other items later.

PATH: choose one of the following paths and post your answer in this thread with the image of the kit. Note that this is not a trick question, choose the thing you actually want to do.
  • Mixed Media Path
  • Sewing Path
  • stamping/doodling path
Note that if you are planning to use digital scrapping rather than paper, then you can't choose the sewing path.

To receive full credit you must post to this thread prior to the posting of Step 2.
Step 2 will be posted Friday May 3 11:00 am (at the end of my timeslot)

If you miss the deadline, you must still post to this thread before moving to step 2, but you will not receive an entry into the drawing for step 1. I hope this makes sense.

Here is my step 1 kit! ☺️

https://www.acherryontop.com/gallery/338397

I've got alpha stickers, puffy heart stickers, sequins in a pill bottle, kraft paper for a background, and 4 scraps, one of which is a cut apart.

I would like to take the mixed media path, please!

I was hoping to do this tonight but I fell asleep after dinner and now I’m too groggy. Saving my spot for tomorrow morning.

Finally got a photo.

Kind of a dumb question....can I use dies to make my titles? I hate all of my alphas Thickers after I had a fight with them earlier this week.

Fun! Saving my spot here to post my Step 1 pic tonight 😃

Here is my kit, there is a grid paper for background and I will use one of the cardstock stickers for my title. The little container has brads.

I’ll take the stamping/doodling route.

Is using VB mixed ready to use paper cheating for the Mixed Media path or can that work?

I laughed and laughed!  It is true...I hate mine too.  I should get rid of them as I make my titles on Cricut 99% of the time.

Thanks for the fun!  I was getting very stressed already!  I needed this!

Here is my "kit."  Yeah, it's digi. :)  This challenge of yours was one of my favorites last year!  My embellishments aren't in the packages, but I chose 2 groupings. Hope that works.

I will choose the Mixed Media path.
