LOTW 2/26-3/3
Here I humbly submit my layouts of the week! So much talent in the gallery!
Traditional Layout
https://www.acherryontop.com/gallery/fa ... 34872-2024
This layout by nellie_pickles caught my eye because I love the eclectic, scrappy style of it. It is truly a unique layout. It sort of hearkens back to the beginning days of scrapbooking, when we would include memorabilia and use actual scraps of paper that we had on hand. I loved the mixed media and the large title (which looks handcut!), too. But more than anything, I like how the journaling goes beyond the who, where, and what. She focused on why this New Year’s Eve was different and special. I’m a sucker for meaningful journaling!
Honorable Mention

This layout by stinkerbelle made me smile as soon as I saw it! The journaling and photo are authentic and real. I love that. I also thought it was beautifully balanced. The stitching frames all of the elements, and I love the splash of pink and torn edge. Somewhat simple design but eye-catching and very modern.

Ok, this one blew me away. pawprints’s journaling was incredibly well-written and I loved the last line! I like how this is a snapshot of “now.” People will look back at this in 50 years and learn so much. In terms of the design, I love the strip of photos at the bottom, the color palette, and the eclectic, collage-look of all of the elements sprinkled about the page.

I thought this page by Aztam was cool because of how the bright red contrasts the newsprint. I Also liked the photo placement and the smiley photos! Best of all, according to Tammy, this was made with stuff she hand on her desk. I love when scraps come together to create a little work of art!
Cards

Choosing a card to spotlight was difficult because I'm not a cardmaker. So I had to choose just based on what I liked. This one by Sandi0805 was so eye-catching with its simple grid design and pretty colors. The brads and rounded corners soften up an otherwise linear design, adding visual interest. I would be so happy to receive this in the mail!

Thanks for noticing my art journal page. That's where I like to experiment (and use the leftover bits). The xo is a rub-on from ancient times. I found them when I did an alpha re-org!
Congrats to all the others that were highlighted by Leslie!
