=D i could not believe how easy it was to install steam under wine.
i followed this link
http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/...ge=HOWTO+Steam
i downloaded wine 1.0-rc1 from source forge. it natively supports the font that steam uses. i used installpkg as root on the wine file and it installed. in console i issued wine --version and it took the command.
i went to steampowered.com after that and downloaded the msi installer. i opened up a terminal and cd'ed to the directory (my desktop) and then issued "wine msiexec /i SteamInstall.msi"
it was a bit laggy and a bit bitchy but all went well. at the end it dumped a "Steam.lnk, and Steam" file on my desktop. the Steam file launches steam. log in to your steam account and download half life and counter strike, find a server and ROCK IT! if you have not used wine previously it will set up some directories and such, when installing i suggest installing to Steam instead of Program Files. the space makes terminal freak out and think "Program" is a command. i hope this is usefull for those of whom seek to thermite there windows computers but still want to rock the CS. =D
